3 Feet Passing Signs in Kane County & Cary

Ride Illinois continues to make progress in our campaign to get 3 feet passing state law signs placed on popular cyclist routes. Initiated by cyclist requests to Ride Illinois, Kane County has installed signs on three routes west of Geneva and St. Charles and are considering four other routes near Elgin.

The Village of Cary has also installed 3 feet passing signs on Georgetown Drive where the village’s first on-street bike lanes have been painted.

Ride Illinois continues to advocate for signs in several other communities throughout the state. We invite you to help us identify problem roads and locations where better signage is needed. Contact us through our online Make Biking Better form with your suggestions.

In some communities, Ride Illinois is partially funding the signage projects to help incentivize installation. Please consider making a donation to help us expand our efforts to get 3 feet passing signs installed throughout the state.
