Bike 2 Campus Week 2017

With the arrival of springtime weather, campuses around the state are promoting a “Bike 2 Campus Week” encouraging students, faculty, and staff to get out and ride more. This year, Ride Illinois partnered with several college campuses to help them promote their Bike 2 Campus efforts & encourage bicycle safety education at the same time.

Co-branded postcards were designed and distributed around the UIC, North Central College, Dominican University and Southern Illinois University campuses.  Northwestern University also participated in promoting participation in Bike 2 Campus week activities. Each campus encouraged riders to head to www.bikesafetyquiz.com and test their bike safety knowledge. Once they completed the quiz, they were directed to email their certificate for a chance to win various prizes. A second chance to win was provide to all of the participants who joined Ride Illinois’ email list at the end of the quiz.

Over 600 postcards to students, faculty, and staff and also used other channels to help promote their efforts. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email campaigns and campus bulletin boards were a few ways our partners spread the word. UIC campus topped the list with over 200+ quiz contest entries!

Many other campus listed here www.bike2campus.com participated this year & Ride Illinois wants to thank all of these campuses for encouraging safe biking, and getting their communities out more on bikes. If your campus is having a “Bike 2 Campus Week” in the future, please contact at info@rideillinois.org to talk more about how we can partner together!
