Climate Ride Tours Can Benefit Ride Illinois

Looking for a bike tour outside of Illinois this year? Climate Ride offers charitable bike tours in locales from Death Valley and Glacier National Park to Saigon and the San Juan Islands.

Climate Ride participants can select their favorite nonprofits (hint: Ride Illinois) as beneficiaries of their charitable ride. You can tour a different part of the country or world and still support Ride Illinois at the same time!

Climate Ride hosts a variety of rides and hikes that raise funds for sustainability, active transportation, and environmental causes. Ride Illinois is honored to be one of the beneficiaries that riders can designate. Last year, Ride Illinois received a contribution of nearly $3,000 from participants in Climate Ride’s events.

“In 2016, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Parks System with rides that visit Death Valley, Olympic, Glacier National Parks and more! With 10 riding and hiking events to choose from, you can support Ride Illinois while exploring these amazing places. From safer streets for cycling in your state to conservation in our National Parks, the Climate Ride impact is widespread,” Climate Ride logistics and rider coordinator Patrick Colleran said. “In order to develop new routes and programs, Climate Ride will be resting the Midwest route this year as we have done with the other rides in the past but we plan on coming back to the shores of Lake Michigan soon!”

Already planning your own independent bike tour this year? Climate Ride also has an Independent Challenge program. “This program allows participants of non-Climate Ride events to support Climate Ride beneficiaries, like Ride Illinois,” Colleran said. “Upon registration, you will receive access to Climate Ride’s easy to use fundraising software and support from our expert fundraising team. Last year, 13 participants raised $40,000 for our network of beneficiaries while participating in their own rides, climbs, and even polar bear plunges.”
