HB1784 to be Reviewed by House Transportation Committee

On Tuesday, March 28, the Illinois House Transportation Committee will be reviewing HB1784, a bicycle safety bill that would legalize three common practices. HB1784 would:

1) Allow motorists to pass bikes in a no-passing zone under certain conditions to improve cyclist safety.

2) Officially legalize bicycling on road shoulders.

3) Allow bicyclists to use a rear light without also using a rear reflector.

If your IL State Representative serves on the Transportation Committee, please take a minute to ask them to support HB1784 and pass the bill to the House for full consideration.
