HB1784 to be reviewed by Senate Transportation Committee

The Illinois Senate Transportation Committee will be reviewing HB1784, a bicycle safety bill that would legalize three common practices.

If you live in one of the Transportation Committee members districts (see list below), please take a minute to ask your IL State Senator to support HB1784 and vote to pass the bill to the Senate for full consideration.

House Bill 1784 would:

1) Allow motorists to pass bikes in a no-passing zone under certain conditions to improve cyclist safety.

2) Officially legalize bicycling on road shoulders.

3) Allow bicyclists to use a rear light without also using a rear reflector.
