Bicycle Commuting

Bicycles are for transportation, too!  When you can, leave the car at home and bike to work, transit, or errands. It is an efficient way to fit exercise into your schedule. Feel better and save money. Are you thinking about commuting by bike, but don’t know where to turn for advice and tips? The League of Illinois Bicyclists can help you by providing resources from experts who have commuted and experienced many issues related to riding a bike to work or school, like what to wear, where to keep your bike, what to tell your employer and how to map a safe route. An article with tips for commuting by bike is on LIB’s News Columns page here. LIB has produced “Bike to Metra” guides for more than 20 towns that provide bike-friendly routes for each community. The guides also have tips for commuting by bike, such as selecting a bicycle, finding a route, clothing and staying clean.
