LIB developed BikeSafetyQuiz.com as a convenient, interactive way for bicyclists and motorists to learn more about safely sharing our roads. The interactive quiz includes tailored options for Adult Bicyclists, Child Bicyclists, and Motorists. Each quiz presents 25-33 Secretary of State-approved multiple-choice questions covering safety techniques and bicycle laws. Since the launch of BikeSafetyQuiz.com, nearly 30,000 individuals have visited the site.

Our winners testimonials:

“I took that quiz because I believe that cycling by the rules of the road will encourage automobiles to accept cyclists. We need to share the road and nothing can promote that better than understanding how to work safely together.  I’m a long-time cycling commuter, and even though I thought I knew all the rules, that quiz taught me a lot. I found the quiz informative; not only was it testing what I knew already, but it also explained what I didn’t yet know. I’ll be a better sharer of the roads now that I’ve taken that quiz.”
– Susan Hillabold, East Peoria

“I am the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 52 in Swansea, IL and an avid cyclist. Our Cycling Merit Badge counselor encourages all our scouts to complete your online quizzes as a tool to learn the safe cycling rules of the road in Illinois. What a great training resource! Thanks for helping us teach our scouts to ride safely.”
– Paul Pulse, Swansea

“The Bike Safety Quiz is a great teaching tool. It helped me feel more confident riding my bike on a busy road and I also believe it taught me how to better share the road with bicycles when I am in a vehicle.”
– Holly Fowler, Springfield

“This quiz was a good refresher for me. I learned a few Illinois rules I did not know. As a driver and cyclist, I would recommend non-cyclists take this test. It would not only be a great learning experience, but also, the more people that are aware of cycling rules, the more safely we can all share the road.”
– Jeremy Limones, Ottawa

“I was pretty confident of my knowledge of bike safety and rules of the road when I took the Bike Safety Quiz, but there were certain questions I got wrong. The quiz is great because it expands your knowledge and will make you a safer cyclist. I encourage everyone to take the quiz.”
– Jonathan Higgins, Bloomington

“I learned many super helpful bike safety tips, such as where to ride to increase my visibility, and also about many relevant laws governing bikers on the road.  The quiz also did a great job explaining the reasoning behind those laws, which made it interesting to take.”
– Maria M., Chicago

“It was a well done quiz. I appreciate its educational value.”
– Nancy Sreenan, Evanston
