Pushing for Bike Friendly Roads in Peoria & Western IL

As part of our ongoing advocacy work, Ride Illinois has reviewed upcoming state road projects planned for IDOT District 4 (including Peoria and Western IL) over the next five years. We have drafted letters, linked below, asking IDOT for improved bicycling conditions when they work on these roads. Our requests focus on priority locations and are meant to provide input at an appropriate level for the scope of the projects.

– US150 eastbound McClugage Bridge  – Illinois River bridge replacement
– IL29 Adams St, south of US150 – resurfacing project
– IL40 Knoxville Ave, south end – resurfacing project
– Airport Rd over I-474 – bridge deck
– Pinecrest Rd bridge over I-74 in East Peoria – bridge superstructure and deck
– IL8 bridge in Edwards – bridge replacement
– IL29 bridge in Mossville – bridge replacement
– IL40 bridge in Edelstein – bridge replacement
– US24 in Creve Couer – resurfacing, add sidewalk
– IL117 from Goodfield to Eureka – resurfacing, add shoulders and rumble strips
– US24 bridge in Banner – bridge replacement
