‘Start Seeing Bicycles’ Signs

Ride Illinois has been working to increase the safety of cyclists on Illinois roads since 1992. We’ve assisted with legislation, developed bike plans, and helped IDOT update several of their manuals related to road design. Those efforts have all been successful, but they also take a lot of time and effort. Our members and supporters often ask how they can make an immediate impact and we think you’ll be excited about this opportunity!

Bert Travis, a Ride Illinois member from Alsip, has been creating and sharing ‘Start Seeing Bicycles’ signs for the past several years. Bert’s bright yellow, durable signs have been popping up all over northern Illinois! Ride Illinois is excited to partner with Bert to expand the reach of this well-meaning, grassroots campaign. Our hope is that these signs will soon be used from Rockford to Cairo, Quincy to Champaign, and all places in between!
