Ride Illinois is honored to announce the successful recipients of the FY2018 Injury Prevention Grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)!
A total of ninety driver education programs completed the requirements and were reimbursed up to $250 for staff time for incorporating the BikeSafetyQuiz.com, and agreeing to use the easy-to-use resource for a period of three years. The driver education programs were from more than 75 different communities throughout the state. Additionally, 14 elementary schools from a dozen communities completed the requirements and received cash reimbursements for up to $250.
BikeSafetyQuiz.com is an easy-to-use resource that includes IL Secretary of State approved content and provides both cyclists and motorists with in-depth instruction on common car-bike crash causes and relevant state laws.
A total of 20 police departments received up to $2,000 through the grant. The deadline for departments is later this month, with the number of police departments successfully completing the grant expected to increase by that time. Police departments could receive up to:
Ride Illinois is excited to announce that we have received a grant for the coming year (October 2018 through September 2019) which will focus on driver education programs.
